There is blank space so that the sender can write his/her message too. There is a matching envelope with the card which sometimes has decoration attached to it.

2.Photo greeting cards: These cards have gained immense popularity. The first type is the printed photo cards which has the photo imprinted with the artwork. This is done by the digital press technology. Photo insert cards are the second type which is designed in a manner by which photo slides into the card. The overall appearance of the card is like a photo frame. These cards are quite popular as holiday greetings.

3.Personalized greeting cards: There are several websites which enable people to personalize the greeting cards. These cards are preferred by many due to the customized approach involved in them.

4.Musical greeting cards: There are many greeting cards which play music when they are opened. Traditional music like Happy Birthday songs/tunes is played.

5.Reusable greeting cards: Some greeting cards are designed in a way that they can be used multiple times. These are best for those with a limited budget.

6.Electronic greeting cards: These are flash-based cards which are sent through e-mail. There are several such websites through which people can email these e-cards to their near and dear ones. In addition to emailing through computer, there is also the feature to send greetings through mobile phones.

7.Pop-up cards: These cards have a picture which comes outwards when they are opened. They are nice to surprise anyone and are widely preferred for gifting purposes.
