He has number of duties to perform and varied roles to play such as a motivator, an instructor, an advisor, a friend, a mentor, an organizer and many more which actually relates to the situation how it is required. Polishing a raw talent of an individual into a skilled volleyball player summarizes the efforts required by a volleyball coach, says Gregory Drugan.

Volleyball has been defined as team effort where two teams are separated with a volleyball net targeting to achieve the highest score for winning. To make a team effort successful, there is a lot of patience and hard work included in a player's performance. A volleyball coach has a main role to bring the talent in to sync and create an enthusiastic atmosphere for players to accomplish target. Being an experienced volleyball coach, Gregory Drugan undergoes various responsibilities such as to instruct, to make them learn, to train, to make them perform, before projecting a player's skills to the field. Bringing that sincere learning approach to a student is one of the important tasks for a coach to perform making an efficient learner and a successful player out of a beginner who hardly has any knowledge.

Creating right conditions for learning and finding ways to motivate students defines the real capability of being a coach. Motivation has proven effective in training students but it may be difficult for a coach to maintain the same level till the end session of coaching. In such case, the practice needs planning where a coach plays the role as a firm planner and includes different educational sessions, technical drills and other classes. This helps players in knowing how to be technical with the skills while performing in the field. The workshop sessions organized by Gregory Drugan help students learning different ways to respond the opposite team's attack and also opportunity to earn points. He has coached different tournaments organized nationally and internationally. He has given a motivational spirit to players for playing a winning game.
