Time of the year Hurricane season on the Atlantic Ocean side of the United States typically runs from June 1 and ends November 30; on the flipside of North America on the Pacific, hurricane season lasts from May 15 to November 30.

Location Some regions of the world are subject to hurricanes more than others. One such region lies in the Caribbean, which usually strikes northwards of Grenada, and to the west of Barbados.

The Devil's in the Details. In case you didn't get the chance to study weather patterns in the Baja Peninsula, you'll have to make note of the fine print in your timeshare contract. In quite a few cases, a timeshare contract allows for fees to increase during a natural disaster such as a hurricane.
