Tomato plants require six to eight (6 - 8) hours of direct sunlight and should be watered regularly. Also, it grows favorably on soil that is moist and aerated. Pruning or selective removing of some parts of your tomato plant is also advisable for good harvest. Parts such as non-fruit bearing branches and excessive leaves could be trimmed so that the fruits can have more contact to sunlight. However, you should be very careful not to trim much leaves for this aids in the development of the fruit's sweetness. The removal of the shoots or the suckers on the other hand leaves more energy for the mature tomato plant.
