When using the injection method of human growth hormone (HGH) replacement

, selecting the correct site for the injection is important. You should choose an area that contains a layer of fat between the skin and the muscle. These are known as subcutaneous areas. These subcutaneous areas include the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, and upper arms. All of these areas are good HGH injection sites because the person administering the injection will be able to grab the amount of skin necessary to successfully complete the injection.

Each time an HGH injection is given, a different area should be selected. This allows for rotation of injections from one subcutaneous area to another. Please note that the injection must not penetrate into the muscle, but only into the fatty subcutaneous tissue that exists just under the skin.

The abdomen is an excellent site for human grow hormone (HGH) injections. The fatty tissue below the skin of the abdomen readily absorbs the injections. HGH injections given in the abdominal area are less painful, but injections too close to the navel should be avoided. Also, the person giving the injection should take care not to administer it where a waistband might cause irritation to the injection site.

The front or outside of the thigh is another good site for HGH injections. To determine a site in the thigh for giving the injection, mentally divide the leg between the hip and the knee into thirds and then select a site in the middle third. Please note that the injection must not be given in the muscle, but only into the subcutaneous fatty tissue just beneath the skin.

HGH Injections given in the upper, outer areas of the buttocks are often less painful. The person receiving the injection must lie face down on a flat surface such as a table or bed. Because of is generally ample size, the buttocks area is one of the best for HGH injections.

Being one of the easiest to get to, another common site for giving a human growth hormone injection is the upper arm. The back portion of the upper arm contains ample space for grasping an area of skin and injecting the hormone into the subcutaneous fatty tissue. This is not a deep injection into the muscle.

It is unlikely, but on occasion certain issues might follow an HGH injection, issues that will require attention from a healthcare provider. These include such things as prolonged bruising that doesn't fade over a short time, a bump that doesn't go away, or the development of any of the signs associated with inflammation or infection at the site such as being hot to the touch, persistent redness, swelling, pus or pain.

Administering human growth hormone (HGH) by the injection method is done in six steps: 1) exposing and cleaning the injection site, 2) checking to ensure the amount of solution in the syringe is correct, 3) quickly and firmly inserting the needle into the skin at an angel between 45 and 90 degrees, 4) slowly injecting the medication by gently pushing the plunger, 5) withdrawing the needle quickly and applying pressure to the injection site, and 6) safely disposing of the needle and syringe.
