For heavy traffic, getting a dense low pile or loop pile carpet will work well. If it is an office area with moderate traffic, a cut pile, loop pile or cut and loop will be suitable. Whereas if spills possibly occur often, the loop pile carpet with moisture resistant backing would be suitable. This way, you can clean it up easily. On the other hand, olefin, which is typically the level loop, is suitable for low to moderate traffic. However, its fiber provides natural resistance to moisture and mildew, and cannot be easily soiled, stained or even fade. As for wool, it is typically used in high class places like hotels and casinos and is extremely expensive, and would require a combination of other fibers to enhance its performance.

There are many other factors to consider like the color and size which would be more of a personal choice.
