Guidelines For Gaming Groups

There are a lot of online gaming communities that have developed their own rules regarding behavior while interacting with others online.

Any large group of people needs and develops certain standards of behavior to live and interact by. In the gaming world, these standards are important to try and keep order among the enormous amount of people that are registered.

These standards are intended to guide players throughout life in that community where friends can be made, while not having to deal with rudeness or sometimes malicious behavior. Gaming should be fun, and keeping certain norms will help with that.

One example is when another player is making a move to obtain something. Some players will take advantage of that moment and try to steal the move from them.

Everyone wants to win, but there is winning dirty as opposed to being fair and square. Avoid the temptation to roll over someone else on the way to the victory lap, and let others enjoy the game as well.

Sometimes being nice can also be a problem, especially when they are just learning how to play. There are times that players will need the assistance of others, while other times require their own skill and judgement. Let them let you know if there is something you can do to help them learn.

Chatting is another area that can use a little courtesy as well. Many people use chat rooms, and sometimes they can be busy and crowded. Wait your turn and don't interrupt others with repetitive messages sent by you to the room demanding this or that.

One additional thing to consider is that even though this is a game, don't get caught up in the competitive nature of the program. Be nice, and always remember not to be demanding or insistent to a fault.
