The Guitar Academy has expanded its reach to produce music lessons to people who can't make it to the commercial enterprise ' studio
.
Michael Ridenour, a classical guitarist and owner of the Music Education Center at the Guitar Academy, revealed a USD 2,500 enlargement Monday at the Duncan Hill Road business. Ridenour teamed up with Hewlett-Packard, which handled the installation of technology for resources in the new Music Education Center.
Pupils with access to a computer can realize their desire to choose music lessons at home or an alternate location thanks to the new hardware and software system at the center, told Reese Lapka, partner business managing director for Hewlett-Packard.
Educatees can sit at a computer keyboard wired to a big-screen plasma TELEVISION and compose music, finding it appear on the display as they type in the notes . The big-screen technology also allows video-conferencing, where the instructor and educatee can see each other and play guitar together instantly, Lapka remarked.
"This will supply them (the educatees) the admission to learn music and play along, such as having video admittance, distant lessons where an educator teaches to several students by using Skype for their instructor-led video to be able to do distance learning," he remarked. "There is also the potential to have live feed back for rehearsals and to be willing to have that video capability . All sorts of things is possible to be emailed or streamed live.".
The new center fills a void in Henderson County, Ridenour remarked, as the computer programming package will enable pupils to try music theory and better prepare them for college music studies and professional performance.
"Pre-determined lessons through a computerized course of study will offer aid to pupils with music theory education, and we can do the similar things with aural skills, which is developing people to spot musical intervals and chords, because the software program will play intervals and different chords and that aids the pupils train their ear to hear the divergences," Ridenour stated .
The center will also provide musicians a place to play, studio recording ability, rehearsal space and a place to stage live shows , he remarked.
The center is also looking to provide a mentor program for highschool educatees to prepare them to enroll a college music program, Ridenour said .
"There is a lack of knowledge with music aural skills and music theory," he remarked. "The three primary things the center will do are aural skills, music theory and class piano.".
The center will also put up the academy's Kindermusic program, a music and movement class for preschool-age kids that introduces children to music and rhythm. The program is designed for children ages 1.5 years through 7 years old, Ridenour said .
The school teaches lessons in guitar and bass, he said . A guitar ensemble programme commenced this autumn.
"We have talked about having a jazz program ," Ridenour stated . "As these ensembles progression , we could see the demand for private instruction in other locations .".
