Remember, we are not born with skills, we must learn them. And to improve them, we must practice. This is how it works. If you want to be good at guitar, you must learn and practice.

It's always very important to start with the fundamentals. These will form foundations upon which you will build, so you have to make them strong. Remember, learning guitar, or any musical instrument, is a gradual, step by step process.

What's important when you first start playing guitar is to learn a few basic skills that will make your progress go more smoothly. Remember, step by step. If you skip certain steps, you are bound to have problems.

So what are the basic maintenance skills for guitar? Two of the most important are - tuning and stringing. They are extremely useful and will prove valuable throughout your guitar playing life.

You should also learn how to change strings. This is very easy and is, of course, connected with tuning. When you change the string, you have to bring it into tune.

Both of these maintenance skills should be learned as soon as possible. The sooner, the better. Granted, it will take quite some time to get really efficient at tuning, but it's definitely worth all the effort.
