HIV and Single has been on the web for seven years and they boast that they are the highest quality HIV dating site online and offer a site that is free of spam and fake profiles - a problem that's prevelant with many dating site's.
Co-owner, Matt Beram states, "Unlike many other dating sites, when a member recieves an email on our site, they can be assured it's from a real, genuine person that has read their profile and wants to meet them. HIV and Single used to be a 100% free dating site, but they could find no way to stop the spam problems and got many complaints from the members. Beram and partner Elisa Forni decided that $4.99 was inexpensive enough for most people to afford, but enough to keep the spammers from paying to contact members.
The other thing you will not find on HIV and Single is profile sharing. Because of the popularity of online dating, dating site networks have sprouted up that offer owners of different dating sites to share profiles with each other, thus appearing to make their member base look bigger.
Forni says, "The problem with this, is that these shared profiles are not of people living with HIV, so not only are you not meeting other positive singles, your privacy about your HIV status is being comprised. If you've written something about your HIV in your profile, it's now being shown to people without HIV."
Beram adds, "We do not and never will share profiles, which is what most dating sites do, especially the free ones. All of our members are original and unique. They come organically from our marketing efforts. They find us from Google, Yahoo, or links from other sites."

Beram and Forni are both pleased with the new program to offer free premium memberships to persons on disability.
