Seeking of opportunities involves actively combing of surrounding environment for advantageous circumstances. This means an exhaustive enumeration and evaluation of materials available in an environment and the possible needs in the environment, whether consumer or industrial. This calls for creative study of the environment to discover or appreciate challenges and associated needful ideas for full realization.

Recognition of opportunities has to do with identifying beneficial circumstances. An essential pre-requisite for this process is opportunity sensitivity. This entails reflection on what goes around you to ascertain why they happen and see possible need for solution. Building of opportunities comes from asking questions on how existing situations can be improved.
