. You have to do a thorough inspection of the product before you sit down and start writing. I have been writing laptop and Netbook reviews since a long time and I've had a great time doing it. But there was a lot of hard work put in before I reached this stage in my life. I get a lot of requests asking about how the reviews are written. For gamers, there are plenty of graphic cards and there are laptops with keyboard backlighting. Higher end hardware takes a lot of time to check since I have to go through all the features. Review of a simple Netbook gets done in no time. Keyboard When it comes to business laptops, the first thing people want to know is, how good is the keyboard? The most popular keyboard layout in the market right now is the island-like design found on the HP Mini 5102 and Apple MacBooks. These keyboards give a good user experience since the buttons are spaced away from each other and hence the mishits are minimized. I write the review on the laptop that the manufacturers give me to test. My reviews are long enough so I get a clear idea about how good the keyboard is, by the time I finish the article. Touch Pad Two separate buttons are preferred instead of a single rocker key. The buttons should give a good tactile feed back too. Or else you will have to use an external mouse. I reviewed Asus Eee PC 1101HA Seashell some time ago and I didn't like the single rocker button beneath the touch pad. There are plenty of Asus laptop accessories available in the market which can be used as an alternative to the touchpad but you will have to pay extra money for it. Asus laptop accessories are better than others in the competition and they are priced relatively lower without any major compromise on quality. Battery life Battery life is really important for travelers but desktop replacement laptop users don't care about it. Netbooks like Asus Eee PC 1101HA Seashell have longer battery life. Bigger 17 inch laptops live for just 70-80 minutes. I do challenging battery drain tests in my labs while writing reviews because it is really important.
