HTC Desire S and Wildfire S, both are the latest models of HTC smartphones. But while we compare the both, the Desire S seems to beat Wildfire S in terms of diverse features.

Desire S also bests the Wildfire in terms of resolution ( WVGA vs HVGA) as well as displaying colors (16M vs 265k).

What's more! The bigger screen of Desire S also makes it a relatively bigger gadget (3.7" vs. 3.2"). Further, it's over a centimeter taller (115 mm vs 101.3mm)and slightly thinner than Wildfire S (59.8 mm Vs 59.4 mm). You can also feel the weight of Desire S slightly heavy in contrast to Wildfire S (130g vs 105 g).

Even though, both of the phones pack 5 MP cameras with equal image quality. Notwithstanding, when it comes to video shooting, there is a big difference between the two. Desire S can shoot 720p video but Wildfire S can't. It's not the downside of the camera but of processor, which has to crunch the images into a fluid video. Whereas Desire S is empowered by a 1Ghz processor and a superb GPU, Wildfire S packs a slower 600Mhz processor. The Desire S also provides the facility of video calling via front camera, which is unfortunately not available in HTC Wildfire S.

This difference is also clear in the body of both devices. Desire S comes in an aluminum unibody, which makes it more sturdy and a high-end phone. In contrast to this, Wildfire S is made from the plastic indicating it as a low-end phone.

Both of these phones reflect the business strategy of HTC, which targets each echelon of customer community. In case you're short on money, you can go for the Wildfire S. But if you can spend much more, then Desire S is here to provide you more benefits with its more marvelous features.
