When it came to the original design for the BMW 6 series

, auto enthusiasts everywhere were singing the tune of baby got back, but unfortunately nobody really meant it as a compliment. Its not that people all of a sudden had a strange aversion to back, they just didnt much care for the way BMW was presenting it. The current generation 6 series sported a prominent Bangle butt, a slang term used to describe a tail with an extra layer of metal on the trunk, and was all in all a highly controversial design. Critics will be interested to note, then, that the 6 series will be getting a bit of a makeover in the near future more in line with BMWs current design direction.

According to recent spy reports (I could have simply said enthusiasts who spotted the new car, but spy reports sounds so much cooler), the Bangle Butt will be getting the boot on the new convertible 6 series. Likewise, the flying buttresses on top of the car will be flying their way out of the design scheme. New updates will include a two-piece rear lid, two cut-lines along the side and top of the vehicle, potentially for cargo access. As a whole, it appears BMW is doing away with the infamous and lengthy rear deck. In the front of the car, the new 6 series will feature a more vertical grille and headlights similar to those of the Z4.

For the benefit of drivers in Hackensack, BMW 6 Series engines will likely come straight out of BMWs 7 series. In all likelihood, the 760 Lis impressive twin-turbo V12 will not be the engine included. Its more likely that the double-scroll, single turbo, 3.0-liter straight six and the twin-turbo, 4.4-liter V8 engines are included. Outside of the United States there will likely be a few diesel options.

Theres little information as to when Hackensack BMW dealer lots will actually offer this new BMW 6 series, but when they do expect to see a four door version of the car as well. As drivers know well in Hackensack, BMW 6 Series could definitely benefit from a four door edition and drivers can hopefully experience such a car soon. Chances are the four door will appear similar to the 650i Gran Turismo, along with a trunk lid akin to the one seen in the 550i GT. Theoretically, the four door 6 series will be BMWs answer to the new Audi A7 four-door coupe. Regardless of who wins the battle there, consumers of any Hackensack BMW dealer can look forward to new designs, new advantages, and all new BMW 6 series in the very near future. Hopefully this time everyone will be singing along in praise.
