. Now a day this surgical technique has been used widely in almost all parts of the world but the more advanced nations are focusing more on this technique. The advanced nations are trying hard to introduce new and improved ways in this surgical technique.

In this surgical technique, the hair follicles are moved from one place (which is called as the donor site) to the bald or balding part (which is called the recipient site). Hair transplantation is used for different purposes and it is primarily for the treatment of male pattern baldness. In addition, this technique can also be used for restoration of eyelashes, eyebrows, beard hairs, chest hair and public hair. In some countries, this technique has also been used to fill the different scars that are being caused by accidents. There are basically two types of hair growth techniques used to the other parts of the body and they include the following: A-Strip Harvesting B-Follicular Unit Extraction.As the hair naturally grow in the form of follicles that contain mostly grouping of 1-4 hairs. Now a day in most of the cases of the hair transplantation, these naturally growing 1-4 hairs are transplanted.

As far as the history of hair transplantation is concerned, this technique had been found and used back in 19th century. The latest and modern transplant techniques were used in Japan back in 1930s. But till the end of World War II, this technique did not get the warm response from the public. After that, the modern techniques of the hair transplantation in the western countries were used in the 1950s. In western countries, the first U.S dermatologist namely Norman Orentreich started different experiments on this technique. After this different scientists and doctors continued their research on this technique and with every new day, this technique saw the new improvement. All the hair transplantation techniques have their own advantages and disadvantages. Some people are afraid of the side effects of this technique. There are different types of research reports that have clearly shown about some side effects of this technique. But this is the reality that most of the side affects have the temporary nature and they leave soon after the process of transplantation completes. Some side effects of hair transplantation include the swelling of the area from where the hairs are extracted. Some patients also complain for itching. But all these side effects and problems can be controlled with minor medication. Follicle unit extraction hair restoration technique is getting popularity due to least invasive nature and rapid healing. There is less post operative care as compared to strip hair transplant surgery.
