Halloween Event set at Las Vegas' Rhodes Ranch Golf Club

Rhodes Ranch Golf Club's Las Vegas golf event, the Halloween Beat The Pro Caddyshack Edition' two-person scramble, combines three fan favorites: the Caddyshack movie, a round of golf and Halloween. The tournament has one thing for everyone including golf, costumes, prizes and food all wrapped up in an all inclusive package.

The tournament was scheduled on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start off and had General Manager Tate Stull plus head pro Shane Sanchez out on the course (in full costume) had participants getting to take their best shot to beat the pro team for prizes. "It's gaining momentum every year," Stull stated. "Everyone has a great time. We get maybe 30-40 percent of the people who come out in costume. We got more this year because it's a 'Caddyshack' theme and it's easier to dress up in those types of costumes." The entry fee included green fees, cart, range balls, a drink ticket, lunch, prize fund, hole event prizes and optional skins ($10 per team). The cost was $25 for Platinum Members, $60 for Rhodes Ranch homeowners, $65 for E-Club Members and $75 for everyone else including Las Vegas visitors.

Rhodes Ranch Golf Coures opened for play in 1997. This Ted Robinson design, one of more than 50 Las Vegas golf courses, plays to 6,909 yards and showcases par 3s the architect has referred to as the finest he has ever designed. One of those par 3s, the 227-yard 3rd, will greet players on the right as they get into the property. It's spectacular to look at and challenging to tackle as four bunkers, a stream and a pond are all positioned to make this one remarkable golf hole. Add in breathtaking views of the Vegas valley and the surrounding mountains and a golf course with lush fairways and true rolling greens and you have got the all makings of a golf experience.

"The event is something our employees really get involved in," Stull said of the Halloween outing. "And the participants really love it. We played some golf, took pictures, had lunch and handed out prizes for the top five scores and the best costume. It's just a great time."
