Hand blenders do virtually the same job done by the mixer-blender however in a hassle-free way. A hand blender is a simple machine which has a motor attached to it. There is a strong metallic stick attached to the motor and this stick has a blade at its lower end. The motor is placed in the upper side of the machine opposed to conventional mixer grinder. There is single switch to alter the speed of motor from high to low or vice versa.

Now what makes a Hand Blender so convenient? Working with hand blender is convenient because its blade is not attached to any specific jar. You can blend ingredients in any common utensil you are using. You can use it like a ladle as it offers a convenient grip on its upper side. You can use it even in a pan kept on the stove. You can use it for blending hot liquids also which you can not even think of doing with a conventional mixer or grinder. You can prepare hot soups and purees instantly just after boiling the vegetables. You can use hand blender in the serving pans also.

One of the more interesting advantage of using hand blender is you can blend even smaller quantities of food such as baby food. A full sized mixer is not a convenient option for preparing things like baby food. It is very easy to clean the hand blender after use. To do this, you need to detach the blade from the stick and wash it with soap water. Wipe the stick with a damp cloth and you are done with its cleaning. Usually hand blenders come with two attachments; mixing and blending and other for churning.

However, while working with hand blender, remember kitchen safety. Whenever, the hand blender is switched on, do not put your hand anywhere near its blade. Though its blade is not that sharp but when switched on, they move in very fast speed and can damage the hands considerably. Do not immerse its top side into water as only lower side is water proof. Top of the hand blender contains all the electrical parts. Switch it off immediately the moment your job is done. Separate its two parts fro cleaning purpose only when it is unplugged. A hand blender is a hassle free kitchen tool if you use it with little safety tips.
