Toronto, Canada - GAO Tek Inc. (www.GAOTek.com) has launched its handheld light source with adjustable output power. It is designed for fiber network installation, engineering acceptance and maintenance. Used together with GAO's C0260003 handheld optical power meter, it transmits wave ID information and offers a quick and accurate testing solution on both single and multi-mode fiber.

This handheld adjustable light source, model C0220003, uses an FP-LD emitter and operates at wavelengths of 1310/1550 nm and 1310/1490/1550/1625 nm. Its optional modulation frequencies are CW, 270 Hz, 330 Hz, 1 kHz and 2 kHz. The compact light source provides tone generation for multiple sound frequencies including 270 Hz, 330 Hz, 1 kHz, and 2 kHz. It has an adjustable step size of less than 0.5 dBm and stability of 0.15 dB/30 min at 20 C.

Its unique intelligent backlight control greatly reduces power consumption by adjusting the light intensity according to ambient light. The light source is powered by 8.4 V AC adapter or 3 AA 1.5V alkaline batteries for up to 45 hours of continuous operation. FC and PC fiber ports are available
