Toronto, Canada GAO Tek Inc. (www.GAOTek.com) is offering its handheld portable gigabit ethernet tester which is ideal for the installation and maintenance of 10M/100M/1000M Ethernet. It is commonly used in BER testing of layer 1, layer 2, layer 3 and RFC-2544.

This handheld Gigabit Ethernet tester, model A0060001, has both single and multiple site traffic generation functions. It is capable of identifying cable faults such as short or open circuits as well as detecting cable length. It conducts termination mode testing and frame length, frame type and used ratio status. It provides test tools including port positioning, packet capture and loopback. It boasts a large memory capacity for storage of settings and results.

This ergonomic and easy-to-carry Ethernet tester combines network testing, data packet capture, traffic generation, cable testing and BER testing into one unit. It is compliant with IEEE802.3, RFC1242 and RFC2544 standards and can be upgraded via the included software. It is able to connect with a computer via an external USB or Ethernet port for data exchange. Additionally, equipped with a 4.3 in LCD color touch screen and smart navigation menus, this tester shows all test results as texts or graphics.
