Handling Rejection As A Life Coach

Mastering the art of building a life coaching practice is the quite the endeavor

. As you attempt to attract clients and youre out there talking with people, youre inevitably going to face rejection along the way. And some more than others. Any successful life coach has learned not only how to overcome rejection, but how to master sales, master many of the possible objections, and practice until their conversion rate improved dramatically.

One of the common concerns at the beginning is that life coaches become frustrated when people dont say yes to their life coaching. You may have experienced this too, where for periods of time every person you talk to seems to say no. Or they say they want to coach with you, but dont have the money, or theyll pay you next month. Or they say theyre committed, but the money doesnt come. And it happens over and over again.

Let me give you some guidelines for what to do when this happens. First, theres only a certain number of objections that you can possibly get, and after some practice youll begin to notice those patterns and what to say to help overcome those concerns.

The next part to pay attention to is patterns in your responses. If you have a lot of potential clients give you the same excuse over and over again in the same time period, you can be sure that its not your clients, but something about you.

For example, if many clients are saying they dont have enough money for your coaching, you may have a belief that clients dont have enough money for your coaching. You may believe that your life coaching is expensive and unnecessary compared to their bills. Or you may believe that that people are poor and dont have money. Or you may believe that your coaching isnt valuable. So make sure to pay attention to the patterns of the responses youre getting from your clients.

As long as you approach every rejection, objection and failed sales conversation as an opportunity to learn and get better, you will get lots better over time. Practice makes perfect. And in this case, lots and lots of practice makes perfect.
