Harry Zakuor blames Hearts CEO

...For the club's current woes

Ex-Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Accra Hearts of Oak Mr Harry Zakuor has laid the recent stuttering run of the club at the door step of the current CEO Mr Fred Crentsil 'Where are they?' can confirm.

To Mr Harry Zakuor, Mr Crentsil failed as a chairman in his previous post with SP Miren, and therefore does not qualify as an occupant of the Hearts' CEO seat.

He pointed out in an exclusive interview with Charles Osei Asibey that Mr Crentsil's appointment was not correct noting, 'Running football is a full time business and not what we are witnessing presently.'

'If he was capable, he could have successfully managed his club, but he failed.I think he is not the right person, he would have joined Hearts years back if he had the club at heart,' he said in plain words.

Mr Zakuor added: 'Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin has done nothing wrong regrading the team's current performance, i think the club's management didn't appoint the right CEO,' 'I am totally disappointed in the current board, and I cannot see Hearts of Oak go down like they way it is presently,' said Zakuor.

He also blamed the men in charge of recruitment, a position he once occupied for the crisis confronting the club saying, 'I blame the men in charge of the recruitment, when I was in charge of recruitment, i recruited players like Obed Ansah, Edward Affum and others who are doing well in the league but what we are seeing now is not pleasant.'

Fumed with anger, he called for the heads of the current board and should be replaced with new men with innovative ideas to steer the club in the right direction to redeem its current 30billion Cedis debt and make progress.

In his response to the way forward, he mentioned that the only way was to flow shares to the public, change the current CEO and put proper structures in place as pertained in clubs like Berekum Chelsea and others.

The former Great Olympics chairman stated that he sacrificed most of his acquired properties as a result of serving the Phobian family, but has realised that his departure had had a negative impact on the club.

Remembered for his feat as the chairman who led the club to win the 2000 Champions League and the Super Cup, he revealed that he has distanced himself from the club for a while, but will readily make his services available should the opportunity present itself for him to serve the club again.
