Have You Always Dreamed Of Being A Gardener? Here Are Some Tips!
Anybody and everybody can learn to garden
Anybody and everybody can learn to garden. Even those who are sure that they have no gardening talent can grow and raise plants. Over time you can learn how to grow all sorts of different things: flowers, fruit, vegetables, herbs, spices-even trees if you want to. It is the assumption that growing a garden is easy that causes most new gardeners to fail. It will get easier as you work at it but in the beginning there will be lots of new things to learn. Planting and watering are only two parts of growing a successful garden. Learn more about growing a successful garden by following these tips.
Don't go too big too soon. If this is your first garden start with just one plant or a few of the same type of plant and a small garden plot. This will help you gain practical experience in things like soil tending and plant care. Wait to practice more advanced gardening habits until you find success with a single plant. Lots of beginner gardeners think that they can grow more than they can and this leads them to planting too much and attempting to do too much to soon-this, then, leads to disappointment when they don't have a lush garden within a month's time. To really learn the art of gardening start small and work your way up-don't skip steps. Bees are good for gardens! Even if you hate the idea of having bees near you, you need to learn to deal with them because they are good for your garden. Bees spread pollen around, which your garden needs if it is going to grow. Plants cannot grow fruit or bloom until they've been "fertilized" with pollen. This means that you need to get over your fear of bees. In fact, it is a good idea to encourage bees to explore your garden! One of the easiest ways to attract bees to your garden is to plant tomatillo plants; bees love tomatillos. Take care to plant more than one tomatillo plant because bees are not good at sharing; in fact, one of the best ways to get stung is to try to fight with bees to get the fruit from a tomatillo plant-instead, plant some tomatillos for yourself in another part of the garden.
Using compost is a great way to enhance the health of your garden. You can do your own composting-you don't need anything special to do it.
Beginning your own compost pile is easy. It can be made from fruit and vegetable scraps from your meals, coffee grounds, tea bags, egg shells, old flowers that have died (the cuttings you've had in vases around your house are great for a compost pile), grass clippings, bedding from hamster, rabbits and guinea pig cages and even used paper! Just leave the meat out of it and your compost pile will be just fine. This is how you make your own home grown fertilizer for your garden!
Gardening is pretty easy to learn. All you need are the right gardening hints and you too can grow your very own garden! Everybody can learn to grow a garden-it just takes patience and time!
As you learn what to do and work to apply what you've learned you will grow a healthy garden!
