Each and every one of us look forward to our annual holiday and whether you are getting
away for a relaxing week or two in the sun or looking for a fun packed adventure holiday a yearly holiday is just what we need.
Obviously the first step is deciding on where to go. Many people re-visit the same holiday resort year after year whereas some of us like to try something different. If you are flying from the UK then you have numerous destinations available to you. Mainland Spain is merely a two hour flight and as long as you book for the summer months you will be guaranteed temperatures well into the thirties. A little further afield (just over 4 hours) are the Canary Islands.
Made up of seven islands the Canaries make a great holiday destination at any time of the year since they bask in all year round sunshine with temperatures still in the seventies to eighties in the winter months. By far the most well known islands are that of Lanzarote, Tenerife and Gran Canaria. These three islands have been a popular destination for both youngsters and families for many years and provide holidaymakers with lots to do and see as well as great weather and nightlife.
Another Canary Island that is becoming more and more popular is Fuerteventura. The second largest of the Canary islands, Fuerteventura gets its name from 'strong wind' so although you are always blessed with high temperatures you are kept cool by a constant breeze from the ocean.
Not quite as built up as its sister islands of Tenerife and Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura still offers lots to do and see and a quick boat trip to Lanzarote (approx. 15 minutes) means you can visit more than one island on your holiday!
Accommodation throughout the Canary Islands is either hotels or self catering accommodation and whether you are looking for something right in the heart of town or even in a traditional Canarian village there is lots on offer. The internet is a great place to look for accommodation or you can book through a local tour operator.
