How to Provide Proof?

If You Have Insurance

If you already have coverage, contact your insurance agent and let them know you are in the market for a new Ford. They can provide you with a binder that proves to the dealer you have coverage. The binder does not require coverage for a specific vehicle but does provide the proof of insurance necessary to drive off the lot. Typically, you'll have 30 days worth of insurance coverage on your new vehicle from Interstate Ford. After that time expires, you must discuss coverage with your insurance agent to make sure you are in compliance with state laws.

If You Don't Have Insurance

If you do not already have insurance, you'll have to research insurance companies before heading out to the Interstate lot. With a general idea of what kind of Ford vehicle you are in the market to buy, you can secure temporary coverage on the vehicle. After the sale is complete, you can update the policy with the essentials: VIN, make, model, year, and coverage amounts.

Keep in mind, your Interstate dealership will allow you to complete and sign all paperwork to make the sale of your Ford complete but without proof of insurance coverage, you will not be able to take your vehicle home with you until insurance has been taken care of and the dealer has proof of coverage.
