Having Fun With Experimental Animation

, you might want to try Experimental Animation. Many are presently drawn to filmmaking, as movies are such a popular form of entertainment. And you never know, you could be the next Academy Award winner for best film.

There is no need to depend on actors and the crew, when you start animation films. You will be able to handle it all yourself.

Cartoons were one of the very first animation experiments. And along came the experimentation with clay figures.

Today people have access to free software that they can use to create animation figures simply and effectively. There is software that lets you choose the color of your imaginary being, the shape of its eyes and nose, the size of its mouth and ears, and what color hair it will have. Further, it gives you the power to move this being around in ways that you choose, whether you would like it to walk, or march, or dance, or fly. It can be a large as a monster, attacking tiny people in a city, or it can be a world of tiny beings that you create yourself.

Although stop motion filmmaking has been popular for decades, the ease of doing this type of animation now has created many new filmmakers. Software and the support that you can get online make this a fun hobby. But it takes patience, as a simple one-minute film will require a lot of time and effort.

This type of filmmaking is done by shooting a string of still photos and then putting them all together. You would just need to choose an object, like a piece of clay, for instance. Take a picture of it. Then do something to the clay, like pull at one end, but just slightly. Then take another picture. Pull it some more, and take another photo. After you have, perhaps a hundred or more photographs, you are ready to put them all together to make the movie. The movie will make it seem like the clay is becoming something different on its own. Other items you might consider are toys that join together, and so many more objects.

The movie making software to put these photos together is available online for free, or you can purchase more elaborate software applications that have the ability to create special effects and more. Whichever application you choose to start with, you will find that experimental animation will open your mind to creative ideas that you had not thought of before, and you will have great fun with it.
