Healthcare Networks of America is Proud to Announce the Winner of the "Why Do You Walk" Donation

Healthcare Networks of America, LLC proudly announces that their efforts have raised $1002.00 in support of national breast cancer awareness month in October 2010. Half of the proceeds raised were donated in the name of HNA's own, Carri Kaufman and the other half went to Christy Multz, who is participating in the Susan G. Komen walk.

Why I Walk in the Breast Cancer 3-Day by Christy Multz

I do not walk because my Mom or Grandma had breast cancer, I don'y walk because I've had breast cancer. I have no brothers or sisters that would have breast cancer, I am an only child. I walk for my sisters in the world that are fighting every day to stay alive for their families. I have seen 2 of my friends diagnosed and SURVIVE after losing their mothers to breast cancer. Those 2 friends have daughters and sons that will forever be on the lookout for an awful disease to invade their bodies. I walk for at least 10 other people in my life that have been touched by breast cancer. I walk for my 2 daughters. So that they may never know the fear of breast cancer.

I walk for Charlotte, a survivor. She is a mother, wife and my dearest friend. I walk because I was not with her to hold her hand when she was diagnosed or when she went for her double mastectomy. I was not there when she went through rounds of chemotherapy. In my busy life, I did not make time out to be with her. I left it up to her family and friends that lived close to her. So I fight for her in a different way. I walk 60 miles with blisters and pains. Nothing compared to losing your breasts or your life.

I walk for anyone who can't. When I am at my 18th mileof the day, and tired, I think of how many women are sitting in a chair, nauseous from their treatments, fighting for their lives. If I can walk and help just one of those women, it's worth it.
