Healthcare Plans For Elderly Immigrants In Canada

Having a health care plan for the seniors is extremely important as they face a lot of problems when it comes to providing for them

. They are vulnerable to diseases and ailments and they also are in a weak physical state. Canada has announced the healthcare cost for the Canadian immigrants are rising. Due to their physical state they cannot work and are generally dependent on the others they need a good health plan to be sure that they will be taken care of in their old age. The health care cost has shown a rise because there are many immigrants who are old and they cannot pay the government much. The Canadian government has stated that any immigrant who is in the country has to have a health care plan therefore those who do not have much money will not be able to reunite with their parents as they would not have enough money to pay for the healthcare plan. This condition is included in the visa and will be followed out by the government. Every coin has two sides and this situation too has two angles that can be approached and the angles are-:

The government needs money

One side of this argument is led by people who believe that the government cannot indulge in charity and has to get its return. The old people do not pay much tax as they do not earn much and this leads to the government spending money on those who pay the government very less or sometimes no tax. The immigrants are growing in number and the government is coming under pressure providing for them thus the families should pay for the parents and grandparent. This will reduce the burden that the government is facing and the family provides for the elderly.

It is insensitive

Some claim that this policy is absolutely insensitive and the people should be able to meet their parents without any rules and regulations. They say that money should not decide whether a father can meet his son or a mother can attend her daughters wedding or a grandparent can meet their grandchild. When a family is not able to pay the health care cost then they cannot get the visa for their parents or grandparents. They feel that the government should approach this from an emotional perspective and only then will they understand how much their decision affects the people.

Both the teams are very adamant on their points and believe truly in the cause. Some think very emotionally and find the issue of saving money for the government not very necessary while the more practical people feel that the government cannot spend a large chunk of money on those who are not capable of returning it to the government. Peoples opinion will largely depend on what kind of people are they the emotional ones will support the opposition while the practical ones will stand by the government and find this way to be the ideal way to solve the problem.
