Healthy Baby Skin

The softness of a babys skin often leads us to wondering how it is so soft

, it is indeed Gods miracle and there's nothing to compare the soft, delicate skin of a baby. But taking care of baby's sensitive skin is not a child's play and often requires frequent and sincere care. An unattended or neglected baby skin can attract problems like diaper rash, cradle cap, or another skin conditions which can make an infant irritable ultimately making life unhappy for the entire family. While we are fully aware towards the nutrition needs of our baby, we fail to give proper attention to our baby's skin. This is true that many babies are prone to skin irritation during the initial few months following the birth. Mothers and care givers need to be aware to spot any problems which may creep up in a babys skin. First and fore most one need to understand that a baby's skin is different than an adults skin as it holds less moisture and is considerably more fragile as compared to an adult. One major difference is that infants can easily get sunburns as the melanin levels in the skins are far less than in babies then in adults. Thus sitting in the sun may feel great, but it can be exposing babys skin to the risk of damaging sunburn. Simple steps like avoiding direct sunlight during first few months use special baby sunscreens, hats, and umbrellas or any other protective medium to shield the child. One needs to apply sunscreen to the areas of baby's skin that are not protected by clothes. The use of Zinc oxide on unprotected parts like nose, ears and lips has proven to be effective. Sunglasses are good protectors for eyes of the child.
