Healthy Eating Facts Everyone Should Be Aware Of
Have you noticed a rise in Type-2 Diabetes, heart disease
, stroke, and other life threatening diseases? Do you think it is, like Autism, simply because we are more aware of the diseases, are learning how to diagnose them quicker, and keeping our eyes open for symptoms / signs?
The sad truth of the matter is that there really has been a rise in these fatal diseases. A very small percentage is due to our increased knowledge of them. All of these diseases, and others, are caused by lifestyle choices. Therefore, they are nothing like Autism where we are simply more aware of the symptoms and are finding improved ways to diagnosing the issue.
In the particular cases where Type-2 Diabetes and heart disease are concerned, the lifestyle choices we make are crucial to the longevity of our life and overall health. Again, in these cases, these lifestyle choices are those that consist of what we consume for energy and fuel. Our bodies need a certain amount of particular nutrients in order to thrive.
Without these vitamins and minerals our bodies begin to shut down and actually fight itself. Type-2 Diabetes is a perfect example as this comes about when you body can no longer break down sugars in right way.
As the processes of your body begin to slow and decay, your body begins to shut down. This shut down process typically starts with one losing their energy levels, whether noticeable or not, and can slowly turn into a dreadful disease. While the entire process is very scary, the fact that this usually sneaks up on you is even more frightening.
The sad thing is, people either do not notice or they simply do not understand what is happening to their bodies. Either way, the decay is there and we need to learn how to stop it. What we eat, along with how active we are, is the only thing that can put a stop to the increase in these life threatening diseases. We need to stop buying into manufacturer's cons and start eating natural foods rather than the processed ones that fill grocery stores today.
Changing the way you eat, and eliminating the unnatural chemicals that you feed your body, is as easy as shopping in the produce section rather than the packaged food section. Rather than buying canned fruits for that fruit salad you think is so good, use fresh fruits. Instead of buying a back of potato chips for that late Friday night snack; buy some pre-cut, organic veggies.
As you can see, it is fairly simple to improve the way you eat. As long as you are conscious of the decisions you are making, you can make the change in less than a month. Now, this is not to say that you should not treat yourself every once in a while, after all, this is where diets fail.
Focus on eating healthy, natural foods 80% of the time and you will notice a great improvement in your life. Focusing on the facts rather than the myths will get you a long way when it comes to a healthy balance diet.
