Heat hysteria reaches downtown Miami

The most awaited sports event of Heat saw an upturn of a huge number of fans. The crowd that assembled outside the event venue the American Airlines Arena included fans as well as hundreds of city workers.

The event lived up to the hoopla and people reached the venue much before the official time of the event which was 8 pm. The event also saw arrival of Miami Heat's three big names LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh who recently made headlines about the property investments in Miami real estate market. The players very well reciprocated the excitement showed by the fans.

Speaking about the event, Erik Spoelstra, Heat's head coach said that fans had been waiting for the big game for a long time while Dwyane Wade added that he felt great after getting back home. During a pre game press conference he said that as looking forward to the night. He was also aware of that South Florida fans had been waiting for the game eagerly.

The game began with a rather disappointing start with a loss to Boston and a bounce back victory in Philadelphia. Miami Heat hit the field with a 1-1 record. About 20,000 fans attended the game who were told to don black attires in order to show their support for the team.

However, otherwise a hit game also saw downpour of angry city workers including firefighters, cops and other employees who stood in protest of pay and pension cuts. They were attired in orange tees that read "Stop Miami City Hall Corruption".

An expected number of 1,000 demonstrators were likely to assemble outside the venue but rains delayed the protest by one hour. However, the game did not get disrupted, nor did the arrival of fans. Armando Aguilar, President of Fraternal Order of Police stated that their motive was to get their message across through demonstrations. Despite of the fact that game went off well, the fans still opposed the protests and said that though they identified with their plight, the protestors should have chosen some other platform to make their voice heard.
