Help On How To Prepare Make-Up And Hair For The Christmas Party: Part 1

Us girls love to look our best, especially at the annual work Christmas party. We consider it sacrilege to not look sparkly and fabulous in the Christmas season. For those who don't naturally have a way with make-up or know the latest fashions, here's a small guide on how to look drop dead gorgeous at the Christmas party.

Preparing for a Christmas party is for most a task that takes a good few hours. Start the process by washing your hair with a saloon quality shampoo, such as 2010's top hair products, John Frida's Frizz ease for those who need to tame the mane and Pantene's Pro-V Ice Shine Shampoo which encourages shiny and healthy hair. After a luxurious bath or shower, moisturise your body with seasonal flowery or fruity scented body moisturiser.

Whilst your hair dries, start your make-up regime. If you are looking already a little tired and run down, a miracle cure from Elizabeth Arden, the 8 hour skin protectant, will help you get rid of those fine lines, whilst a concealer will cover up any unsightly blue under your eyes. Foundation is next, and recommended is the Cover Girl and Olay Simply Ageless foundation and moisturiser combination, appropriate for any aged woman as it protects and moistens the skin in dry cold weather and covers up any blemishes or lines.

Pale matte skin has been this year's new look and is set to continue through to the party season. When choosing a foundation, opt for the closest skin tone possible with a matte finish. Shiny skin is a big no no' this fall - you don't want to look like Rudolph the red nose reindeer after all!

With pale skin, rosy cheeks are always in. So invest in a blusher that fits your skin tone, giving a rosy English glow. Smokey or barely there eye shadows are this season's must haves. If you prefer the au natural look, then opt for soft browns, gold's and pinks. But if sexy is the look you want to go for, the smoky eyes are the easiest way to lure looks. Continuing the matte fashion is matte lipstick a favourite of this season. Smokey smouldering eyes combined with the red matte lipstick gives an empowering vamp look, whilst opting for pinks from fuchsia to barely there matte lipstick will give a more feminine look.
