Helpful Tips For Your Curbside Trash Removal

The rules for trash removal vary from place to place

. Not every city and town has the same ordinances. Not every area expects their residents to follow the same guidelines. Depending upon where you live, when you move to a new community, you should find out what is expected of you in regards to garbage disposal.

When disposing of garbage in your community, it is important to follow proper guidelines. You do not want to do anything to endanger the health or safety of the collectors. Make it your goal to be clean, green and safe. Avoid all hazards when it comes to trash removal.

Using proper containers can make a big difference, as can using enclosures that allow you to do your part in keeping the amount of waste materials to a minimum. The more you do to help, the less there will be to pollute the environment we all live in.

When handling your garbage and preparing to place it at the curb, you should use watertight plastic and metal containers that have lids that fit on them correctly and are as tight fitting as can be. This will prevent animals from trying to open up the cans and looking to see what is inside of them to eat.

If you have any sharp objects to put out to the garbage such as branches or pieces of wood or metal, they should not be a part of your regular garbage. In many areas, items such as these that are potentially dangerous should be securely wrapped in numerous layers of newspapers.

The bags you put out to the road should weigh no more than 40 pounds each. Be in "the know" about what constitutes regular trash removal. Anything that is hot should not be placed in a bag or container. Examples of items that are definite no-no's include cooking oils, candles that have recently been used, and coals used in a fire.

Residential garbage containers are not meant to hold any type of vegetation or any household waste such as table scraps. This is also not the place for materials related to construction and home repairs.

On trash removal day, make sure that the containers to be collected are placed in the right spot. They should not be blocking sideways or impeding traffic. Position them in such a way that they are sitting directly in front of your home or else on the street beside your residence.

If you have boxes that you wish to get rid for, they must be bent and broken down efficiently. The manner that they are broken down in must be able to accommodate the space that you have for them.

Questions regarding recycling and trash removal may come up form time to time. When they do, contact the relevant local agency in your community for clarification and further information on the issue.
