Helping A Single Mother To Work From Home

Im a single mother of three kids who range in age from 3 years old to 12 years old

. They have had me home for the past 3 years. Ive worked for myself since April of 2007 when I accepted a severance package from Intel Corporation just after my third child was born. My company provided for us, but began to struggle in November 2008. All of our clients started paying us late or not at all. We used a collection agency to get some of the outstanding monies owed to us, but they took a percentage fee. Staff needed to go. New clients were non-existent. The past year was brutal financially. This past December, our last big client began to cut back on his order for more software changes. I began to look for other work. A month ago, I interviewed for a great job for the State of California. Maybe great isnt quite the right word because the person who gets this job has to visit all the state prisons at least several times each. It would pay well and I went for the role because it was the only work suitable for me since December. It is almost March now and they havent awarded the contract yet I have built my career upon my B.S. in Business.

In 2001, I started making sure every role I accepted was somehow related to the healthcare and/or technology industries. I enjoy working with healthcare professionals because they are generally very nice people. I like technology for its cutting edge, exciting environment. However, my passion is raising my three wonderful children, so you can guess my anguish when it comes to leaving them for my career. I expect to land a new contract of some sort soon so my stress levels are rising as my bills pile up and I anticipate leaving the kids once again. This weekend, I pushed my resume to many potential employers. I am lucky to have opportunities in this economy, but my enthusiasm is lacking because Id much rather be home with my kids.

I have even contemplated moving so I can be at home for the key times they need me during the day. Then I found your website. Id been looking at the www.wahm.com (Work from Home Mothers) website. I remembered seeing their site years ago when my sons were little. I followed links to data entry and survey entry sites in vain. Nothing seemed legitimate until your site. I have worked with doctors since 2001, helping deliver them quality IT Services in the way of systems, software, networks and support. I would love to be able to work from home and help them in a new way through medical transcription. I also see the potential for me to create my own business to provide this service and remain self-employed while working from home. Advantages of working in the MT industry would be work from home medical transcription, being able to help my child with his home school work, being able to pick up my other child after school, having the chance to give my youngest more time with Mommy. Another advantage of medical transcription at home would be the chance to be self-employed from home while operating an MT Service business. I enjoy helping others and would enjoy expanding my business to help them work from home as CMTs through my business. I like Future MTs website in general and how you are Better Business Bureau certified. That put me at ease. I also like the referrals from other students on the home page. I like how you offer scholarships to struggling people like me. First, Id like to become a CMT so I can provide future employers with a sense of confidence in my abilities and Id like to get an online MT job ASAP. Secondly, for the five year goal, Id like to maybe specialize in one or more areas. When I have the confidence to understand the profession well enough to lead other MTs, Id like to establish my own MT Services business and give other struggling moms a way to work from home. Id like nothing more than to be a financially successful, stay-at-home, self-employed, single mother of three in ten years or less from now!
