Hemorrhoids Surgery, Because Exercise Isn't Always The Answer
Hemorrhoids Surgery, Because Exercise Isn't Always The Answer
Have you had hemorrhoids? Perhaps you have hemorrhoids? Well, I'm willing to bet that you've tried quite a few 'failed' treatments. Well, this article will give you the down-low on all the options you have when it comes to treating hemorrhoids.
You may find that some elements are controversial. What's more, your personal situation will be able to lean you towards the remedy that's best for you.
Ointments and Creams
Unlike some other cures, creams and ointments are rubbed on the piles directly. The objective is to mitigate the swelling to a large scale.
Let me note, however, that long-term relief is not a feature of creams and ointments. While relief is fast, you are certainly going to have hemorrhoids again at some point.
Should you buy them? That's up for you to determine.
I'll make an imperitive point here. This tactic to healing your hemorrhoids should be observed as a temporary measure - nothing more. If you are in a lot of pain and have no other options (the options outlined in this article) then they are a God-send. But otherwise, don't waste your time.
Suppositories
This approach should also be seen with a healthy amount of scepticism. They are inserted into the rectum to provide moisture and lubrication to the hemorrhoid.
Some sufferers will gain relief from them and some won't benefit at all. But it is largely dependent on the strain that is placed upon the hemorrhoids, and the nature of your condition.
If your discomfort is more of an irritation than a pain I recommend you try suppositories. But if you are in a lot of pain I suggest you try something else.
Tablets
Piles tablets change your blood pressure. If taken systematically they build up the strength in your veins, thereby mitigating your risks with piles.
So far in this article, pills are the most effective against hemorrhoids. However, once you stop consuming them you have a chance of suffering once again.
Surgical Intervention
When it comes to healing piles, surgery should be the last box you tick. If you are scrambling to get through the day as a result of sheer agony, your doctor is the next person to call.
Be aware that it does come with a host of side effects (as it seems with everything) See here:
- Future risks to infection and physical damage
- Negative bodily reactions to surgery
- Surgical Problems
Type of Surgery/ Further
- Rubber Band Ligation: In this method small rubber bands are applied to the base of the hemorrhoid, effectively suffocating the hemorrhoid.
- Sclerotherapy: An injection is used to seal off the blood flow through the vein.
- Cryotherapy: In cryotherapy, liquid nitrogen is applied to the area. Immediately, bloodflow through the hemorrhoid is stopped and it's cured.
- Infrared coagulation: A very powerful infrared beam is used to burn the hemorrhoid
- Hemorrhoidectomy: This is the most severe procedure you can have with general anesthesia or spinal anesthesia for complete removal of hemorrhoid(s)
Other Options You Have
Solutions that are natural are less prone to side effects, most often very affordable, and simple to use. Underneath I've listed them for you:
- Lidocaine -- Lidocaine is a veritable secret sauce. Apply it to the area of sensitivity and wait for the pain to numb away. But it's important to know that while the effects are fast-acting, there is no guarantee that hemorrhoids won't return later in life.
- Highly fibrous diet -- This is THE long-term approach to remedying hemorrhoids for ever!
- Pilewort -- Despite the unappealing name, pilewort is perennial herb that's extremely effective against external hemorrhoids. And if you like your tea you're in for a gift - drink it with your morning toast.
- Emu oil: This oil is recommended for external piles. It helps to reinforce your muscles and so lessen the prospect of hemorrhoids.
- Sitting baths: These are always advocated by doctors before any more dangerous treatments. Three times a day run a little bath of lukewarm water deep enough to dip the sore area in. Relax for about 15 minutes each time.
For utmost effect, the bath water will contain a little salt or baking soda, and if you have any, essential oils.
