Here Is A Easy Test To Show You If Your Computer Has Enough RAM

As talked about in the earlier posts there is a simple way to see what your RAM performance

is and if it is the reason your computer hesitates or is generally sluggish. It won't take 5 minutes.

To run this simple test first go to Task Manager by clicking right on the lower tool bar and from the choices select Task Manager. The task manager has a directory of what is actually operating on your computer and will change as different programs are accessed and closed. I will shut off frozen programs in the Applications list but it's not safe to close them in Processes.

On the bottom of the Task Manager box is Processes, CPU Usage, and Physical Memory. The CPU Usage is the amount of computer capacity that is being utilized. It should not run up to 100% for any length of time and should fall back at idle to below 10%. If not, things are running in the background that should not be.. and it's slowing down the PC.

The Physical Memory is your RAM. When you start your computer it will usually take up 25 to 60 percent of that memory. As you access other programs it will rise and fall. It should not remain above 70% or the computer's processor will not have any wiggle room from which to operate and, again, your PC is slowed down.

Now see what your computer does when you do a lot of different processes at one time. Operations like printing and web browsing run at the same time will give you a good idea of the capacity.

If your computer has plenty of RAM but this test indicates the CPU and Physical Memory are overloaded, then the computer: 1. has a lot of error entries and corruption in the Windows Registry; 2. has viruses and malware using up your capacity; or 3. a mixture of both. And more than likely it is both.
