Here's Your 3G iPhone Fix For Wifi Problems

If you talk to any group of iphone users, you are going to come across at least one who is looking for a 3g iphone fix or a 3gs iphone fix for wifi problems. With this issue in mind, I started looking for a relatively quick fix that most anyone could handle.

We are going to take a look at several different potential fixes for the Wifi problems and I think most anyone will be comfortable trying them.

1. We're going to reset the network settings that are currently in place.

Touch Settings >

General >

Reset >

Reset Network Settings

As with most sophisticated hardware, this reset will often correct what is typically a minor problem.

2. If #1 didn't work, we can try a more robust reset.

Touch Setting >

General >

Reset >

Reset All Settings

BEFORE you try this one, let me be perfectly clear this reset will cause you to lose all of your preferences! My suggestion to you would be to get out a piece of paper and make a list of your preferences BEFORE you do this. Once you do this reset, then go back and use your cheat sheet to put your preferences back.

3. Turn back the clock and restore your settings to where they were as a brand new factory fresh iphone 3g or iphone 3gs. This fix may seem a little more extreme, but it can be worth it if it restores your connectivity without costing you an arm and a leg (something we all like to avoid, right?)

Connect your iphone to your computer

Open up iTunes

Head over to the "Summary" tab and select the "Restore" option

Even though you can select the Backup option if you want to, keep in mind that you won't be using that option when you do this

After the Restore process is complete, your iphone is going to restart

A new screen comes up Set Up Your New iPhone

Here you will select "Set Up As a New iPhone"

This 3g/3gs iphone fix will require some additional work on your part. While it does fix most connection problems, it also wipes out your media and contacts. You are going to have to reload those manually so, here again, it will be in your best interest to make yourself a cheat sheet and write down all of your contacts and media so that you can go back and reload them without the frustration of remembering what they were.
