History tells us that the hibachi grill originated from china as a portable charcoal brazier used to provide warmth and as a decorative facility in homes of noble people. It was also commonly used by solders as cigarette lighters and cooking facilities because of its portability. The early ones were made from dug-out cypress wood lined with clay. The model was increasingly advanced to better versions using materials like ceramic and metal. These versions provided high quality grills and their size made them popular among the existing portable grills for outdoor grilling.
There are various classifications of hibachi grills based on the type of fuel they use and material they are made of. The main types of hibachi grill are the charcoal fired and gas fired grills which are mostly made up of metal.
The gas fired grill is the most recent and it uses propane as fuel, the gas does a very clean cooking. A small amount of propane tank attached to the valve at the bottom of the hibachi, which then produces flammable vapor at a constant rate. It is better than charcoal because it produces a clean output and a perfect solution for people who do not want flavors from charcoal.
In charcoal-fired hibachi coal is lit and placed at the bottom of the grill to provide heat, charcoal hibachi is also adjustable. Metal hibachi is another category used by majority of the people, aluminum, iron and copper are the metals used to make them. Aluminum is quite cheaper than others mentioned but it easily wear out by rusting. Metal hibachi is found to be durable than other hibachis.
Ceramic hibachi category was the oldest but updated to modern ceramic which are considered an art and pure decoration to most homes. Hibachi grills are manageable, and portable due to their light weight and small size.
