High Dunk Sneakers

First introduced in 1985, the Nike dunk was designed as a basketball shoe with good ankle support

, a low profile sole, and several color schemes designed for top universities and colleges. Re-introduced I 1998, the Dunk has spent the last 10 years both as a functional basketball shoe and as fashionable sneakers. Coming in low-top and high-top form, dunks is found that fit anyone style. High dunk sneakers were designed with side paneling that keeps the ankle well supported during pivoting. Because of their popularity Nike has collaborated with many famous people and artists to design new pairs of signature sneakers.

When re-introduced in 1998 the dunk began to come in colors other than those of college teams. Often one pair was introduced simultaneously as a pair with the colors reversed was. Due to myriad of colors the option of being low dunk sneakers of high dunk sneakers, dunks have become popular with sneaker enthusiast and skaters.

Skaters were drawn to the dunk due to strong side paneling which protected their feet during hard landings and falls. Nike began to release the Nike SB dunks, which had a thicker tongue and a special insole, designed especially for skaters.

Dunk hi shoes do not need a strap as do some other of Nike high-top designs. The dunk high shoes are very popular with hipsters and trendy teenagers, who wear them as a fashion statement because of their comfort and wide range of colors. Dunks are also very popular with sneaker heads because of their limited quantities. Some dunks have very limited releases, where long lines form to purchase a pair and can often fetch a premium price for resale on the net.

Dunks range in price from 150 for premium high top dunks to 65 for some low-top SB dunks.
