High School Musical 2 is a 2007 Disney production starring Zac Efron, Corbin Bleu, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale. Directed by Kenny Ortega of Hocus Pocus fame, this musical had a premier viewership of more than 18 million, making it the highest grossing Disney Channel movie of all times. It is a tale of high school love and the things that one does to pursue true love. It tells us how the power of love triumphs over the power of money.

The story revolves around high school heart-throb Troy Bolton. The East High session is about to get over and Troy Bolton is desperate to land a good job. The girl Troy is dating, Gabriella Montez, decides to live with her mother. This makes Troy scour the opportunities for making enough money for college. Troy finally gets a job at the Lava Springs, a country club, and manages to get his buddies jobs with the same country club. Gabriella gets employed as a life guard and Sharpay does not approve of it. Sharpay is the daughter of the owner of Lava Springs and she wants to be with Troy. In her scheme, she tries to put pressure on Troy's closest friends to resign by giving them difficult tasks through the manager. Troy inspires his friends to fight it out and Sharpay's plans get spoiled.

Soon after, Ryan, Sharpay's brother realizes that he is not that important to Sharpay and thinks about putting Sharpay in a spot of bother. But Sharpay is determined to steal Troy from Gabriella. She organizes a complex plot for the upcoming talent show. Ryan, in the meantime, meets up with Gabriella and Taylor in a baseball game and invites the Wildcats to perform and compete in the upcoming talent show. Sharpay's intervention in the working results in a heated exchange between Sharpay and Gabrielle and Gabrielle quitting her job. Sharpay wins her first battle. But many questions remain unanswered. Will Sharpay manage to attract Troy? Will Gabrielle give up on Troy? Who will win the talent hunt? Will Troy's encounter with luxury get him hooked to a scheming Sharpay?

High School Musical 2 has created history with its tremendous music and dance and exceptional performances from the star cast.
