Released in 2006, High School Musical adds to the line up of fabulous Disney creations. Based in an American high school the film sees captain of the Basketball team Troy Bolton (played by Zack Effron) fall for mathematic genius and foreign exchange student Gabriella Montez (played by Vanessa Hudgens). Both characters try out for lead roles in their own high school musical and fight against all odds and rivalry to be together. Described as a modern day Romeo and Juliet this fabulously inventive film has captured the hearts of many children and adults alike.

Disney are synonymous with producing popular film concepts with great merchandising potential and High School Musical is no exception. High School Musical kids parties have been becoming increasingly popular and with it the vast range of High School Musical party supplies expanding rapidly. The key to holding a successful High School Musical party lies within the games and entertainment.

Name That Tune is a game that the children can participate in that won't cost you a fortune. All you will need is a CD player, iPod or other musical device. Simply download or buy a CD of the High School Musical Soundtrack and play a short clip from each track to the guests. The first guest to correctly guess the song or sing the next line wins a prize. This game can also be played by getting each guest to hum their favourite High School Musical tune and the remainder guess.

Another tremendous party idea is a game called Who Said It. You can type up quotes from the film, print and cut these out. Place all of the quotes into a bowl and allow each guest to pick two, if they get them both right they win a prize. Who Said It can also be played in groups to make it easier for those who have guests that may not be High School Musical fanatics.

Finally one of my favourite High School Musical party games is High School Hide and Seek, simply hide a number of basketballs, pom poms or other props from the film around your venue and provide your guests High School Musical themed clues to their locations.
