Since the year 1958 to 1965 Chevrolet Impala, a name inspired from an animal

Security features have been introduced such as seat belts, steering wheels and side-car fold indicators. It was also made in right hand drive for export to the UK and Australia until 1969.

General Motors produces a full body design that became the largest car in 1971. Due to energy crisis, this model became not popular. During this period the reliability and quality becomes a concern and cause Impalas sales to fall. In the year 1977, Chevrolet Impala had been redesigned. This time, Chevrolet introduced a smaller car and more fuel economy.


In 1980 some minor design modifications have been made and the Impala continues to sell. However, in 1985 production has been discontinued except Impala SS concept car.

Impala name was popularized again in 2000. In fact, the new generation model is not suitable to use Impala name, but they use a new name Lumina. Impala, a roaring musclecar loved by the car lovers in the late sixties. Impala is the bestselling car in the United States. It is still at the top in car sales caused the company to respond to the needs and ideas given by the public to make sure the car is always up-to-date.
