Hitting The Cancun Clubs Part 2
Which nightclub from our first installment sticks out in your mind the most
? Is it Terrasta, the relaxed r&b and reggae club where the staff motto is no problem, man? Perhaps you remember Sweet Club, the place for flirtatious encounters amid sensuous decor and pulsating trendy tunes. Of course, there is always the biggest and the best at Dady'O; a huge dance club designed to resemble an enormous cavern rising out of the Caribbean Sea. Whichever club speaks to you the most read on and discover another list of Cancun nightclubs to explore. Then, when you get to the Riviera Maya, spend an evening at each and every one!
Coco Bongo is unlike the other Cancun clubs we have covered. A grand environment is an apt description of the place. Their official guest capacity is 1800, but the facility is so huge it can comfortably host incredible dramatic performances with full theatrical sets. And they do. Coco Bongo is an excellent dance club venue, that has been successfully married with dramatic 'Las Vegas-rivaling' theater. Coco Bongo has been known to offer such shows as Pirates of the Caribbean, The Mask, Queen, Chicago, Spiderman, Moulin Rouge and so on. The costumes are movie quality, the choreography is excellent and the music is exceptional. This goes far beyond any standard nightclub; Coco Bongo is an experience!
Senor Frog's is on the other end of the scale from Coco Bongo. As the CEO of the company puts it "you go to Senor Frog's when you're on vacation, if you want to get crazy and nobody knows you". Senor Frog's seems to bring the Las Vegas party strip to Cancun. Guests are encouraged to take home their novelty 'yard glass', and drinking contests (in an uninhibited atmosphere) are their specialty. Theme parties often approach the extreme, sometimes with beer-filled pools in which guests can take a dip. Head to Senor Frog's if you're looking for crazy, wild, and anonymous fun.
Now let's move on to a club with some of the best live Latin music in Cancun: Azucar. This little club is located right next to a resort within the Hotel Zone, but is not one of the wild places like Senor Frog's. Well-known South American bands come to play here live almost every night. Any night of the week at Azucar, one can find a great selection of Salsa, Merengue, Bolero and Mambo rhythms. The club is intimate by Mexico standards, but large enough to have a huge dancefloor, VIP rooms, private booths and a large bar. This is the place to dance the night away to live Latin music.
