It started with an Englishman who signed and sent out many of the of the Christmas holiday cards to his friends and neighbors. The list that he compiled became so large that he could not handle the situation on his own so he hired a writer and artist to make the best cards for his friends and family. This man loved his work so much that he would start to draw individual paintings for each card and the compliments would pour in on how great they looked and how anticipated they were to get every year.

Up until the early twentieth century all holiday cards for Christmas were imported to the United States from England. There was a man named Louis Prang, who is considered the father of the American Christmas card who featured snow scenes and burning fireplaces that gave it that holiday feel. Most of the Christmas cards are well sought after by collectors and have been reproduced throughout the years for his great work.

Now in the technology age that we live in, we have some of the Internet savvy people to start sending online greetings to their friends and family for the holidays. I do not know about you but this is just an easy, convenient and personable way for you to send Christmas holiday cards. When things were different, the family would sit down and fill out these cards individually and all would sign them and send them out. Every year at the same time this happened and was a great tradition indeed. People in general are getting away from some of the finer points of being a family and with this information set forth on holiday cards for Christmas, who knows what might happen.
