Home Cinema Systems
Home Cinema Systems were not available to the masses in the 1950s. Most people made a point to go out to the cinema. Once, visiting the theater was the only way to see movies, but in 1950s the home movie camera came along. This consisted of an 8mm camera with no sound but a screen that you had to put up or use a blank wall. The 8mm camera was a luxury item for the fortunate few. There was a projector system with a 35 mm unit but this was generally owned only by the wealthy. But, what was important was that these items started the home cinema system movement.
By the 1980s there were multi-channel audio systems and these units were using what were called laser disc. A brilliant gentleman by the name of Steve J. LaFontaine introduced the home entertainment system in a small town furniture store using quadraphonic sound. He also used a Sony Triniton television to show the image, demonstrating his ingenuity. Technology was opening a whole new world of home movie viewing.
Interestingly, many systems were placed in the New Orleans market long before the rest of the world got the news. However, it was actually a Chicago demonstration in 1982 that the first good video system was interlocked with fantastic sound equipment and then the race was on. The home cinema system was no longer just for the wealthy. New technology made it affordable, and with the introduction of the DVD in 1990 peoples interest flourished.
When watching a great movie there is nothing as much fun as having a home theater system. The feeling that you are watching a movie on the big screen is fantastic. The sound is coming from every direction and you are not missing any of the action. In years past, this was only possible if you went to the theatre. The idea of having your very own movie system could not be imagined by most, but with technology it can now be easily realized.
Home Cinema Systems are now found everywhere; you can set a cinema system up just for a party or any other gathering. People place cinema systems in their back yards and they are very popular with Community Park Systems. In other words, community movies are shown in parks during summer. You can easily update your home cinema system by adding great speakers and a remote control with all of the up to date functions. Watching movies in 3D is especially fun with the newer home cinema systems.
