The slats of the shutter are opened and closed with a lever or handle that hangs by the side. After they are opened up they are thin enough not to interfere with the view outside but still provide some shade. Fully closed, they give good, dark shade.

For one thing, the color of your wall paint should not clash with what you put on your windows or the rugs on your floor. Choosing on overall theme will help keep your designs on track. Good designers will tell you to use various shades or tones of the same color or to choose complementary colors from the color wheel. You might also choose a style like colonial with a consistent theme.

After the walls and floors are done, it is time to decide on the windows. Choose vertical blinds, horizontal blinds, or more traditional curtains and drapes. Pretty soon, you will be enjoying your new home!
