If you have guests om the way and there is a lingering smell of cooking or wet dog in the house that you wish would go away, add a few drops of essential oil to a cotton ball and put it in the Hoover. Run it quickly around the house and the smell of the essential oil will disperse, covering the smell of Rover and making your house seem really fresh. Just in time for the arrival of your guests!
If you haven't got time to give your house a good clean but want to give the appearance of a domestic goddess, polish your furniture with beeswax. The smell of the polish will make people think you have been cleaning all day.
If the dog has been frolicking around the house and you can't get the hair up, try using a cheap trainer or slipper. Put it on your hand and wipe over the carpet, and the hair will be lifted off. Quick and easy!
If you managed to get pen ink on your favourite top, and then douse the stain with hairspray, leave it to dry and then wash in the machine as normal. Don't be afraid to use too much hairspray.
