Home Remedies For Acne - A Better Alternative To Medical Treatments

Have you ever wondered if using home remedies for acne would be better than using prescription meds?

If that's a question you have asked, then you are one of two kinds of acne sufferers: either someone in their teens with severe acne or an adult who still suffers with acne long after their teen years. I myself was the second kind, before I was eventually able to cure my acne.

Most people are lucky enough to only get mild to moderate acne in their teens, which disappears by itself as they get older. For those of us not so lucky, the over the counter products available for acne just aren't enough, and we are left with two choices: prescription medication or home remedies for acne. And I'll tell you one big problem with prescription medication:

After trying antibiotics that didn't work and Retinoid cream that made my acne worse, I decided it was time for an alternative. When I started to do some research, I found there were people out there claiming just about every natural cure you could think of. There are herbal and vitamin supplements, home-made mixtures you apply to the skin, teas, tinctures and all sorts of crazy stuff.

I eventually came to the conclusion that if I tried out all the home remedies for acne out there, I would only find them no better than medical treatments and become even more frustrated than I already was. Instead I learned how making some easy changes to your diet can have a positive effect on acne. If all the products you have tried putting onto the acne itself haven't worked, I would suggest it is time to try and address the problem from the inside.
