. There are certain factors responsible for oily face such as hormones, heredity, stress, cosmetics, food allergies, environment and wrong skin care. Overactive sebaceous glands can cause oily skin which can attract dirt and later result into formation of pimples and acne on the skin.

There are several home remedies for oily face which have been used since a very long time and have proven to be effective in many cases. Some of the popular home remedies for oily face which are simple to follow and quite effective when tried are:

1. One of the most effective home remedies for oily face is to take an egg and separate egg white from it. Now beat this egg white with lemon juice and teaspoon of honey. Apply this mixture on your face and wait for half an hour. Later wash your face with cold water. Make this a daily routine in order to get good results.

2. Do not use any kind of soap or cleanser to clean your face. This may later result into sebaceous glands secreting more oil. Therefore it is always better to wash your face with plain water. If you want to use soap then use very mild soaps.

3. Mix some ground almonds, lemon juice and milk together to make a paste. Now massage your face gently with this paste and later wash with regular tap water. This is one of the most effective home remedies for oily face.

4. Take some cucumber juice and lemon juice in equal quantities and mix them together. Now apply this mixture on your face and wait for half an hour. Later wash with cold water. Make this a daily habit to prevent oily face.

5. Aloe vera is very effective in treating oily skin. All you need to do is cut aloe vera leaf and peel it until you can see its pulp. Now rub this aloe vera pulp on your face and wait for a while. Later wash your face with water.

6. Ripe tomatoes are also good for treating oily skin. Just take some ripe tomatoes and mash them. Now apply this mashed paste of raw tomatoes on your face like a face pack and wait for a while. Later wash with your regular tap water.

7. Apple cider vinegar is also very effective in reducing excessive oil from the face. It is known to contain acetic acid which acts as a drying agent. All you need to do is take a cotton ball and soak it in apple cider vinegar. Now wash your face and apply this cotton ball all over your face.

8. Mix six strawberries, two teaspoons of chilled rose water, and two teaspoons of fuller's earth and one teaspoon of brandy together. Apply this mixture to your face and wait for half an hour. Later use water to remove this mixture from your face by rubbing in circular motions.
