I suffered from acne for a number of years in my life -- from the ages of 16 to 32. At first I was dealing with it because I figured there wasn't much I could to about it since my skin was naturally producing more oil than normal.

"There IS no hope.", I constantly reminded myself. "I'm stuck with this and it's just a fact of life." I figured maybe it was a teenage thing and eventually I would outgrow it. Never happened.

When I reached my mid 20's I knew something was wrong. So, I did what any body with a similar problem would do -- see a dermatologist. Can't say it helped much because the only quick and permanent solution they offered was surgery.

Can't say I blame them when there are so many other ways to cure acne...but one of the most valuable pieces of information I got from my doctor was that she, nor any respectable dermatologist, really KNEW what caused acne.

"Woah!", I said. "Woah indeed.", she replied. We laughed. She than told me they are familiar with the symptoms and specialize in tackling the problems of acne that are obvious on the surface, but could not tell me what cause it in the first place.

She did say there are home remedy natural acne cures she could prescribe me with to solve my problem, and it DID. The only problem is that I'm not a doctor and everybody's skin reacts differently to different natural cures, so I'll give you mines for you to try, and if it doesn't work I suggest you look into trying other alternatives that are universal to acne victims.

I used toothpaste. I know. Not terribly exciting, but it did it for me and you have nothing to lose to try using it yourself. I applied little dabs of toothpaste to all affected areas on my body and let it sit for a few hours before rinsing it off with hot water from the tap.
