Home Security, Home Burglary-neighborhoods Under Attack

A few weeks ago a customer called me from Thornton

, Colorado where he lives in an upper-middle-class neighborhood. It seems that his neighborhood has been the subject of a series of burglaries many of which are committed in broad daylight. He and his neighbors have talked to the police and the police have been sympathetic but flatly said there isn't anything they can do unless they have visual evidence they can pursue.

In other words it's up to the homeowners to catch the guys.

He cited an example of one of his neighbors that was working in his backyard last summer. He had his garage door open and a new set a craftsman tools sitting on the garage floor. He was only in the backyard for 10 minutes when he heard a car pull up out in the street and a car door shut. He didn't really think that much of it until he went out to his garage 20 minutes later and found his tools gone.

There's a lesson to be learned here I guess. First, leaving your garage door open, even when you're at home invites a burglary. Burglars are becoming more emboldened these days because of hard financial times and their addictive drug habit.

But the reason he was calling was to get some recommendations on a home security system that was custom-made for him to meet his needs. He wanted 8 cameras, six of which were to be used outdoors. He wanted at least four of those outdoor cameras to have night vision capability of at least 100 feet. No problem. He wanted the system to be networkable which means the images can be viewed from anywhere in the world via the Internet. No problem.

So the moral of the story is burglars these days are getting bolder and are willing to take some chances. Homeowners have to be more cautious. The best way to prevent home burglary is with a home security camera or a home security camera system. You have to take the bull by the horn to protect your home and family.

If you think crime can only happen to the other guy you are wrong. The "other guy" is thinking the same thing and to him you are that "other guy". There is a reason why they call it self defense. You have to protect yourself, your family, your home and business!!

Chances are if you are reading this that crime has touched your life in some way or you consider yourself at risk. Take the next step and do something to protect yourself! Your life and safety is worth far more than the cost of one of these.

A covert hidden spy camera can be an even better deterrent than a burglar alarm or a security guard. A camera can be used to identify the bad guys catching them red handed indoors or outdoors.
